We need your help to build a trail!
The Mount Shasta Trail Association and its partner organizations have been hard at work on the Spring Hill Trail just across from Mount Shasta City Park in Mount Shasta.
You don’t need previous experience, just a willingness to do some physical labor and the desire to see an important project get completed.
Here are details from an e-mail recently sent by MSTA president Joe Wirth:
We need to put together several teams of 5-10 people each and go to work on removing brush from the fire road and at the summit of Spring Hill. If you are interested and available on any or all of the days from Monday May 24th through Saturday May 29th please respond to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. My estimate is that we need 4-5 work days to complete this part of the trail. Most of the work can be done with loppers and hand saws. There is a limited need for chain saws. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thus far two teams have worked on the section from the trailhead to the intersection with the fire road. This piece is now ready for the trail equipment which will be there later this month.
We need you! Spend time with other hiking enthusiasts and do a good deed.
