Sept 6: Eaton Lake: Another beautiful lake in the Russian Wilderness. The last 1.5 is a relatively steep climb. Bring your suit for a refreshing swim. (Richard)
AD: 7.5 miles THE: 4400′ AEG: 2200′ PMP: Yreka Mall T: 8:30 am.
Sept 13: Paradise Lake: Typically a short steep hike into this lovely lake, but with Barry’s guidence we make a loop hike w/a short car shuttle. Expect beautiful views of Sky High Basin, Boulder Peak and Black Marble. (Barry)
AD: 10 miles THE: 4800′ AEG: 3000′ PMP: Yreka Mall T: 8:00 am.
Sept 20: West Park Lakes: Not going to the Diamond Lake Camp-out? Instead explore these 3 small, but beautiful lakes in the headwaters of Parks Creek. Great views of Mt Shasta, Goosenest & the Shasta Valley. Expect some cross-country hiking. High clearance, SUV’s recommended. (Larry)
AD: 7 miles THE: 6300′ AEG: 1700 +/- PMP: Edgewood T: 8:30 am.
Sept 20: Diamond Lake Camp-out: Campers & RV’ers will meet at A-12/Hwy 97 to make the 3-4 hour convoy up Hwy 97 to Hwy 138 to the Lake. Don’t forget your Oregon Invasive Species permit for your watercraft. See pg 2 of newsletter for link.
PMP: A-12/Hwy 97 T: 8:30 am.
Sept 27: PCT to Bingham Lake: We hike the PCT from near Carter Meadows then climb up the boulders to the base of Bingham Lake. There are spectacular views of Russian Creek Canyon along the way. Elevation gain & loss in both directions. A long hike, but oh so worth it!
AD: 13 miles THE: 6700′ AEG: 2800′ PMP: Callahan T: 8:00 am.
