Here’s the October 2012 schedule for the Siskiyou Wanderers (reprinted with permission)
Oct 4: Kidder Lake: An early fall hike to a beautiful lake. Maybe the start of fall colors???
AD: 8+ miles THE: 3900′ AEG: 1110′ PMP: Yreka Mall T: 9:00 am.
Oct 11: Deadfall Lakes/Mt Eddy: A wonderful hike that didn’t make the summer schedule. The cooler fall air should make the switchbacks up to Mt Eddy more enjoyable and the views crispy clear. The sedums might be in their fall colors.
AD: 9.5 miles THE: 6200′ AEG: 2800′ PMP: Edgewood T: 9:00 am.
Oct 18: Great Shasta Rail Trail: This will be an exploratory hike of the proposed mountain bike/hiking trail being built by Rails-to-Trails that will link McCloud to Burney via an abandon rail line. We’ll just hike as far as we like.
AD: 8+/- miles THE: 5100′ AEG: 200’+/- PMP: Mt Shasta Fish Hatchery T: 9:00 am
Oct 25: Kelsey Creek/Maple Falls: This hike is becoming a fall favorite. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the golden hues of the big leaf maples along the trail, hiking sticks are helpful too – in case some of those leaves have already obscured the trail.
AD: 8 miles. THE: 2500′ AEG: 1900′ PMP: Yreka Mall T: 9:00 am
Legend to the Schedule:
AD: Approximate round trip distance.
