Here’s the December 2012 schedule for the Siskiyou Wanderers (reprinted with permission)
Dec 6: Beswick Road: We start just above CopCo Lake; where the rafters take out. A low traffic road along the Klamath River.
AD: 8-10 miles THE: 2640′ AEG: 200′ PMP: Yreka Mall T: 9:00 am.
Dec 13: Castle Lake: An early winter hike to this most beautiful little lake. Who knows – maybe there be snow and we’ll shoe & ski in!!
AD: 6 miles THE: 5900′ AEG: 1500′ PMP: Mt Shasta Fish Hatchery T: 9:00 am.
Dec 20: Shasta Wildlife Refuge: Always a favorite hike of the Wanderers. Let’s see which feathered friends are spending the winter at the refuge – bring you binoculars. It might be muddy. Dogs should be leashed. (Montague/Shasta Valley residence meet at the refuge parking lot at 9:15)
AD: 8 miles THE: 2500′ AEG: 00′ PMP: Yreka Mall T: 9:00 am.
Dec 27: Klamath River/Ash Creek: A road hike along the Klamath river heading west from Ash Creek Bridge. We’ll be able to check out the progress on removal of the old bridge.
AD: 8-9 miles THE: 2800′ AEG: 780 PMP: Yreka Mall T: 9:00am
