Dr. John Harch Joins MSTA Board of Directors

The Trail Association is very happy that Dr. John Harch has agreed to join its Board of Directors.  John, who practiced surgery in the Mt. Shasta area from 1992 until  his retirement in 2012, is very active and likes to hike, mountain bike, and ski (both downhill and backcountry).  John and his wife, Lori, are active and visible members of the local community.  As a welcome addition to the Trail Association, John’s energy and dedication to natural resources will help us continue to promote trail projects in the Mount Shasta region.

John earned a degree in biology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, before going on to medical school at UCLA.  He completed his surgical internship and residency  at LA County/USC Medical Center.  Before landing in Siskiyou County, John practiced surgery in the Bay Area and southern California.  John is board certified in general surgery and critical care medicine.

Don’t be surprised if you run into John working hard to maintain one of our local trails, applying his surgical skills with a chainsaw or other trail tool.
