Successful Earth Day Work Event at Castle Crags State Park

This past Saturday — April 18th — the Trail Association hosted a very successful work day at Castle Crags State Park.  The group of volunteers dragged slash out of the woods, operated a chipper to treat the slash, improved drainage on trails leading to and from the campfire center, applied decomposed granite on the same trails to improve the tread, secured new redwood planks to the campfire center benches, and replaced sod at the entrance station with top soil in preparation for the planting of native wildflowers and shrubs.  Our thanks to all of those that participated!
