It may be late August but your SNOW themed Mount Shasta Trail Challenge continues!
Why not try one of our more challenging trails like Snow Bunny or Old Ski Bowl. These trails are hard to reach in the winter so right now is a perfect time. Snow Bunny trail leaves from Bunny Flat and stays just above Everitt Memorial Highway. Lots of great views and a fun trail for when the Bunny Flat gate is closed. Old Ski Bowl trail leaves from that last parking area high up on Mount Shasta. You’re at 8000’ and on the grounds of the old Mount Shasta Ski Bowl parking. We have been pretty lucky with the smoke this year so pick a clear day and enjoy the views.

These trails are at altitude so go prepared with good shoes, downloaded map, layered clothes, water, and hopefully a buddy. Snow Bunny stays below the wilderness so dogs are ok but the Old Ski Bowl wilderness boundary is less obvious and the rocky trail surface is not ideal.
With that workout complete head down Everitt to the September 6th Blackberry Festival at Shastice Park for some pie and ICE cream:) The Mount Shasta Trail Association will be there with maps and stickers and info on some BRAND NEW trails!
The Trail Challenge is FREE but the pie will cost you a few bucks:)
